TAKING OUR SEAT

A 31 DAY PRACTICE INTENSIVE

Modern life does not always leave us the time to nurture our spiritual life. Join me and other women as we commit to a daily sitting practice and take the time to tend to our bodies, hearts, and souls. I will be offering teachings, meditations, and heart—oriented practices from my three lineages: the exquisite Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the ways of the Sacred Feminine, and my own training as a trauma informed somatic practitioner and breathwork facilitator.

You Will Have The Opportunity To:

Nurture a daily meditation practice that combines posture, breath, and awareness.

Learn the tools to transform old wounds and patterns we carry in our bodies.

Experience the confidence and deep knowing that is central to our being.

Reestablish our ancient relationship to the Great Mother and the Sacred Feminine.

Build community and experience the collective power of women sitting together and healing together.

MYTH : LEAVING THE UNDERWORLD

Since the beginning, our ancestors have lived and created stories. Some of these ancient stories from the past are what we now call Myth. However, for our earlier ancestors, these stories were more than just "myth", more than something that was told "out there." They lived these stories intimately, performed them in ritual, and used them to understand meaning in their lives and their place in the larger order of things.

In honor of this timeless tradition, join me as I present a talk titled "Leaving the Underworld." I will tell the beautiful, pre-hellenic, matrifocal story of Demeter and Persephone. I will lead us through the gifts and insights that this archetypal myth has to offer us as modern women traversing our own underworlds, our realms of shadows and endings.

We will explore how this enduring myth about mothers and daughters, about leaving and returning, about how a woman comes to traverse her own darkness, continues to teach us. Have we taken what was needed in this dying time? Have we let something go? And what about those pomegranate seeds?

Join me in navigating this rich territory in the first talk of this series as we ourselves prepare to leave the underworld and enter spring.

This talk was recorded and now available to all to receive via recording.

Length: 60 minutes. Cost: $40. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Payment: Venmo @Jennifer-terbell (4843) or Paypal (jennyterbell@gmail.com). Once I receive your payment, I will send over the recording.

MYTH : THE RETURN

In the myth and in real life, spring has come. Symbolically, in the ancient story of Demeter and Persephone, this is represented by the reunion of the mother with her daughter. After the long winter, the long search, and the long time gestating in the underworld, the women are above ground now and beginning to bloom.

What happens in the outside world is reflected in our own inner world, and vice versa. We may also be feeling the return of spring, of new life. In this second talk of this series, we will explore this motif of The Return, while continuing to see the ways the myth lands in our own lives and bodies.

What have we let go?

What has been growing within us?

What pulled us from winter’s depths?

Where do we see the new bloom?

Come explore how the destiny of this incredible mother and daughter pair continues to speak and touch us as modern women traversing our own upper and under world journeys.
